How to Spot a Fake Pump.fun Trending Service

A fake Pump.fun trending service usually gives itself away before you pay: it asks for a seed phrase or private key, wants you to connect a wallet and sign something you do not understand, promises a specific rank, or asks for a trading deposit with no way to check where it goes. A real service only needs one transfer from you, and every trade it makes is visible on Solscan.

The short list of red flags

  • Any request for a seed phrase, recovery words or a private key.
  • A wallet connect plus a signature you cannot read.
  • A promise of a specific position on the board.
  • A deposit of trading capital with no way to verify it on-chain.

Why are token teams targeted?

A team that just launched is in a rush, holds SOL and is publicly looking for attention. That makes it easy to find and easy to pressure. Messages arrive within minutes of a launch: someone offers to get the token trending, a supposed partner wants to list it, an account with a familiar name asks you to verify your wallet. Most of these are automated, and the ones that are not are counting on you being too busy to check.

Impersonation is the other common pattern. Someone copies the name and logo of a real service, including ours, and messages teams from a new account. PumpTrending never sends the first message, never asks you to connect a wallet and only takes payment through the console on this website. If a message claims to be from us and asks for anything else, it is not from us.

None of this means every service is fake. It means the burden of proof sits with the service, and the checks below are quick enough to run every time.

What should never be asked of you?

  • Your seed phrase or recovery words. No trading service needs them. Anyone who has them owns your wallet.
  • Your private key or a wallet file. Same thing in a different format.
  • A wallet connection to an unfamiliar site, followed by a request to sign. Drainer sites look exactly like normal tools until the signature empties the wallet.
  • Remote access to your computer, screen sharing while your wallet is open, or a file to run.
  • Mint or freeze authority over your token, dressed up as a requirement for listing or trending.

PumpTrending asks for none of these. The only transaction you make is one transfer of the fee from a wallet you control, and the console never connects to your wallet at all.

Which promises should make you stop?

Pump.fun does not publish how its board is ordered, so nobody outside Pump.fun controls the ranking. That makes some promises easy to judge.

Common claims and what they usually mean
ClaimWhat it usually meansWhat to ask
"Top 3 for sure" Nobody outside Pump.fun controls the orderAsk them to show a past run on Solscan
"Free, just fund the wallet" The cost is hidden in the depositAsk how much comes back and how to verify it
"We work with Pump.fun" Usually a claim nobody can checkAsk for a public source, not a screenshot
"Connect to verify your token" A common drainer patternRefuse; nothing needs your signature
"Pay now, the slot closes in 5 minutes" Pressure to skip checksWalk away; real services can wait

How do you check a delivered run on-chain?

Every trade on Solana is public, so you never have to trust a screenshot. Open your token on Solscan and look at the transaction list for the window the service said it would run.

  1. Note the window

Write down the start and end time in UTC that the service promised before paying.

  2. Read the trades

On the token page in Solscan, filter to that window. You should see buys and sells from many different wallets, not a handful repeating.

  3. Compare with the plan

Add up roughly what traded and compare it with the volume you paid for. Big gaps are worth asking about.

  4. Watch holders

The holder count should rise during the window as new wallets buy.

If the service cannot point you to its trades, or the trades do not match what was promised, you have your answer. Keep your payment transaction link either way; it is your receipt.

What does a straightforward service look like?

  • One payment, no wallet access. You send a fee from your own wallet and that is the only transaction you make.
  • A clear all-in price. The total in SOL is shown before you pay, including anything optional. Our pricing guide explains how to compare quotes.
  • No rank promises. It describes what it will do, volume, trades, holders, replies, and leaves the ranking to Pump.fun.
  • Checkable on-chain. It tells you the window so you can watch the trades on Solscan.
  • Written support. A real address you can write to and get a record back, like our contact page.

If you are unsure about any offer, including ours, slow down. A legitimate service will still be there in an hour, and the console shows the gap between your token and the board before you pay anything.

Questions and answers

Does a trending service need my private key?

No. No trading service needs your seed phrase, recovery words or private key. Anyone asking for them is trying to take control of your wallet. A legitimate service only needs a payment that you send yourself from a wallet you control.

Can anyone promise my token a top spot on Pump.fun?

No. Pump.fun runs the ranking and does not publish its formula, so nobody outside Pump.fun controls where a coin lands. Services can add activity such as volume, trades and holders; the position on the board is decided by Pump.fun.

Is it safe to connect my wallet to a trending tool?

Only if you know exactly what the site is and you can read what you are signing. Many drainer sites look like normal tools and ask you to connect and sign a verification. A trending service does not need your wallet connected at all.

How can I check that a trending run really happened?

Open your token on Solscan and look at the transaction list for the promised window. You should see trades from many separate wallets, a rising holder count and roughly the volume you paid for. Keep your payment transaction link as a receipt.

What should I do if I already shared my seed phrase?

Assume the wallet is compromised. Create a new wallet on a clean device right away and move whatever is left into it, starting with the most valuable assets. Do not reuse the old phrase for anything again.

One transfer, nothing to connect

The console never touches your wallet. Paste your mint, see the gap against the board and the all-in price, and only then decide whether to send the single payment.
